it always helps to use reference pictures but in general here’s a quick basic process for really fast rose making if you’re pressed for time :D just remember that the petals are usually more packed in the middle and get farther apart as you go outwards!
little art tip: the position of the ears on a human does a lot to communicate the angle of the head—whether it’s tilted forward or back.
tilted back with the chin forward, the ears are going to look lower down, closer to the mouth; tilted forward with the chin tucked, the ears look higher up & more in line with the eyes.
Sorry I’m not hijacking, but this is a really good tip if people don’t know this. Like it does look really strange at first, but it is more realistic than drawing them in the centre of the side plane of the head. So it looks like this;;;
These are all NSFW but many offer clothed filters too (sketch daily specially, has great filters for timed sessions and hands, animals, expressions etc) so go forth and have fun!
Ps: If you have figure drawing classes/ sessions irl close to you, please attend it as well, its a great place to improve, meet other artists and make friends!
Cropping can be tricky. I use a very simple trick of cropping things at 2/3 or ¾. I avoid cropping at any joint or edge to avoid the illusion of something is missing or uncomfortable.
